As the weather is quickly changing and winter is coming to a close, it’s time to start thinking about what you need to do to get your home ready for spring. Spring is usually an exciting time of the year as lots of folks are spending more time outside and we want to make sure your home is ready! Winter weather can certainly do some damage to homes that you may not even know about, such as damage to your roof and landscaping.

First, be sure to walk around the exterior of your home to check your garden hose (if you have one) for cracks, clean out your gutters, pressure wash the exterior of your home and replace the weather stripping on your doors if it is showing some wear and tear.

Second, check your interior units such as your HVAC and make sure that you change your air filters. It’s good to change those out every 3-6 months or so.

Third, be sure to check your power equipment, such as your lawn mower to make sure it is in tip top shape. Grass grows pretty quickly so we want to make sure your equipment is ready to use!

Fourth, make sure to do a deep clean inside your home to take care of all of the dust that built up over the winter. This includes floor boards, fans and floors. Maybe even clean out your wardrobe while you’re at it!

If you’re looking to improve your home in any way this season in addition to completing the items we listed above, give us a call. We love working on home renovations, exterior painting, garage builds and much more!
