The crackling warmth of a fire is a welcome experience no matter what time of year. Not only does a fireplace provide a lovely focal point in a room, but it also provides a cozy, and sometimes refined, ambience. Here at Stratton Exteriors, we pride ourselves on being industry leaders in building high quality stone fireplaces, both indoors and out.

The installation or remodeling of an existing fireplace may not cost as much as you think and includes the extra bonus of improving the overall value of your home. See below for both types of stone fireplaces we offer for your living areas:

Stacked Stone Fireplace – Stacked stone fireplaces are exactly that — stones stacked atop one another surrounding a fireplace opening. The stonework is what makes each fireplace original. Endless colors, shapes, rock type and texture offer a variety of options to fit your style.

Stone Veneer Fireplace – Stone veneer is made from natural or manufactured stones that are cut or poured to be around one inch thick. If manufactured, the stone is then painted to help it resemble natural stone. Using stone veneer is much cheaper than building with actual stones and is also much less heavy. Unfortunately, stone veneer does not hold up as well over time than its stacked stone counterpart.

It’s important to keep in mind that the return on investment of a fireplace can vary significantly on your home’s location and climate. Build your new fireplace in a room that is used the most often or add it to an office or bathroom for a more regal look. According to a 2013 survey from the National Association of Realtors, 40% of homebuyers said that they would pay extra for property that had a fireplace with even more stating that they find a fireplace to be a desirable feature.

Let our experienced and certified fireplace technicians restore or install your home’s fireplace into something beautiful. In addition to expert stonework, we also build custom fireplaces both indoors and out. Feel free to give us a call with any questions you may have regarding your home’s new fireplace.
